Diamond Data PRO
Stop guessing.

A lineup optimizer for baseball and softball. Enter your roster's on-base and slugging numbers and Diamond Data PRO evaluates the possible batting orders, then hands you the one projected to produce the most runs — with the reasoning attached.

The problem
The number of possible
lineups is the whole problem.
Lineup construction feels like a judgement call because, historically, it had to be. Nobody can hold hundreds of thousands of alternatives in their head, so baseball developed rules of thumb instead. Those rules are reasonable. They are also unexamined.

Diamond Data PRO does the counting so you can spend the time coaching the players instead of ranking them.
Projected runs per game
A number you can defend
Every order Diamond Data PRO returns carries a projected runs per game figure. That single number turns an argument about batting order into a comparison — build a lineup by hand, run it against the optimized one, and see the difference before the first pitch.

AI lineup analysis
Every slot, explained
A bar chart of expected run contribution by batting slot, then a position-by-position breakdown in plain language: why this hitter leads off, why that one bats fourth, with OBP, SLG and OPS beside each name.
This is the part that matters when a parent asks why their kid bats seventh. You have an answer, and it is not "because that's where they've always hit."

Common questions
Before you ask
Do I need to understand statistics to use this?
No. You need two numbers per hitter — on-base percentage and slugging percentage — both of which come off a standard scorebook or any stat app. Diamond Data PRO handles everything after that and explains its reasoning in plain English.
Does this replace baseball knowledge?
No, and it is not built to. The optimizer does not know your left fielder is playing through a sore wrist, or that your nine-hole hitter has been squaring everything up in practice. It narrows the search and shows its work. You make the call.
Will it always tell me something surprising?
Often it confirms what you already believed, which is useful — you now have a number behind the decision. When it disagrees, the analysis tells you why, and you can weigh that against what you know about the player.
Does it work for softball?
Yes. The underlying run-production model is the same, and roster size and innings are configurable to match your league.
What about pitchers and defence?
Diamond Data PRO optimizes the batting order for run production. It is an offensive tool by design — it does not set defensive positions or manage a pitching staff.
